A Fair Look at What is Exceptional at Rochester Univ

The Renaissance Scholarship

The Renaissance & Global Scholars are an exceptional group of more than 60 students who come to the University of Rochester from all around the world.  They are not only academic all-stars, but they also have unique backgrounds that add to the diversity of our student body.  These students become leaders in their academic fields and campus organizations.  The Renaissance Scholars are a difficult group to characterize as they bring so many different experiences to campus. However the following are some of their extraordinary accomplishments.
  • Spoken at National Leadership Forums
  • Helped resettle refugees and immigrants
  • Advised local boards on social and environmental issues
  • Are multilingual; some have served as translators
  • Are accomplished musicians
  • Assisted people with special needs
  • Served in leadership roles in a variety of clubs and organizations, such as Class President, National Youth Leadership Forum, KEY Club, Latin Club and the National Honor Society.
  • Internationally competitive dancers
  • Accomplished multi sport athletes
  • Organized marches to stop violence in their community
  • Accomplished authors
